Cataracts

Cataracts are the clouding of the natural lens of the eye. Your natural lens helps you focus light on your retina so you can clearly see what you are looking at. When the natural lens becomes cloudy it is called a cataract and causes you not to see as clear anymore. The loss of this clarity of your vision can cause you to not enjoy the things you once used to enjoy such as driving, reading, and watching TV. It also puts you at risk of falls which can cause pain, broken bones, head injury, or place your life at risk. Therefore, if you are experiencing symptoms please call now so we can get you back to enjoying life and being safe again.

Laser Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is the process by which your cataract is removed and replaced with an artificial lens. Laser cataract surgery is a new and advanced way of performing cataract surgery. It employs the most advanced imaging and laser technology allowing for an individually customized, more precise, gentler, and faster recovery compared to conventional cataract surgery. Using the laser to perform your cataract surgery allows for safer and more accurate access to the cataract, softening of the cataract without the use or production of heat reducing inflammation and damage to other parts of the eye, and accurately and reliably treating astigmatism, a condition of the eye that causes blurry vision without the use of glasses. Therefore, laser cataract surgery is highly recommended for complex surgeries, dense cataracts, elder patients, diabetics or patients with weak eye structures.

Advanced lens Technology

An artificial lens is like the lens of glasses except much smaller. It is used to replace the cataract after your cataract has been removed in order to allow you to see clearly again. There are a variety types of artificial lens available and are classified based on their functionality. The basic type of lens basically will require glasses after cataract surgery to see clearly since mostly everyone has an astigmatism and these basic lenses does not treat astigmatism nor do they allow reading without reading glasses.  The advanced lens are designed to provide clear vision without the use of glasses. The toric lens treats astigmatism and thus gives clear vision at far without the need of glasses; however, like the basic lens it does not provide reading vision and thus reading glasses are required. This type of lens is highly recommended for active and elder individuals were freedom of glasses provided convenience and safety. The multifocal and symfony lens are designed to give clear vision at distance and near without the use of glasses. These lens are highly recommended for young active individuals.

Refractive Surgery

Refractive surgery is the use of laser to reshape the cornea, the front of the eye. It is a minimally invasive procedure that is done in the office with little to no medication and helps improve the clarity of your vision. It is one of the most commonly performed procedures performed in the united states and is recommended for anyone that wants to ditch their glasses.
